Faculty Positions in Pharmaceutics, Biotechnology and Natural Products

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research - Ahmedabad

Professors, Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, Lecturers and Laboratory Assistants in Pharmaceutics, Natural Products and Biotechnology.

Essential qualification and experience

Lecturer: MSc in pharmacy/ science with experience, or Ph.D. in relevant area.

Assistant Professor: Ph.D. with 1st class or equivalent grade and at least 5 years teaching/ research / industrial experience with published work.

Associate Professor: Ph.D. with 1st class or equivalent grade and a minimum of 8 years experience out of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent.

Professor: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of 10 years experience out of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor.

For faculty positions, experience in respective fields as below will be preferred.

Natural products: Good background in phytochemistry / synthetic chemistry of natural products and spectroscopy.

Pharmaceutics: Strong base in the development of new dosage forms. Design and execution of pre-formulation and formulations using newer concepts. Background in new drug delivery systems is desirable. Awareness in IPR and experience in evaluation of newer formulations will be added advantage.

Biotechnology: Strong background in cell and molecular biology and exposure to biotech derived therapeutics. Design and development of protein/DNA derived drugs. Experience in proteomics/genomics and in systems biology will be added advantage.

The pay scale will be comparable to faculty in the IITs.

All appointments are contract in nature, will be renewed every year.
