JRF/Postdoc in Functional Genomics | University Hyderabad

Tomato Functional Genomics, which is working on TILLING (Targeting Induced Local Lesions IN Genomes) and fruit ripening in tomato.

Some of the current aims of the group include using reverse genetics to isolate tomato mutants delayed in ripening, having high lycopene content in tomato fruits and analysis of light and hormonal signal transduction pathways.

Rs 16,000/- pm + 30 % HRA.

Applicants should have experience in plant molecular biology preferably supported by publications. PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related field and experience in molecular biology techniques including gene cloning, PCR, northern and southern blotting and hybridization is required.

We also have a position open for Research Assistant (Rs 6000/- pm Fixed). Applicant should have BSc/BTech degree and a minimum two years experience. The experience in handling computers and softwares for this position is desirable.

We also have opening for students having NET fellowships from UGC/CSIR for pursuing PhD at University of Hyderabad.

The prospective candidate for PhD should be highly motivated with an interest to work on the interface of plant molecular biology and plant genomics. Students with training in molecular biology are strongly encouraged to apply.
