Ph.D. Programme 2009 in Agriculture and Allied Science Subjects

Eligibility:
The candidates should have Master’s Degree in the concerned discipline, with 55% marks or its equivalent OGPA for General and OBC categories; 50% marks or its equivalent OGPA for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physically Handicapped categories, from any recognized University in India and abroad. The candidates appearing in the final semester would also be eligible provided they produce the degree completion certificate from the Registrar to this effect by the date of Examination.

The candidates must not have attained the age of 30 years for General, 33 years for OBC, 35 years SC, ST and PH categories and 45 years for in-service candidates (regular employees) of ICAR, SAUs and other organizations dealing with agriculture sector. The crucial date for determining the age limit for all categories will be the date of examination.

The examination consists of 2 papers in objective type having multiple-choice OMR based questions. Paper-I will be in general knowledge including general awareness in Agriculture. Paper-II will be in 13 major subject groups. The details of the major subject group and sub-subjects and other details are given in the Information Bulletin.

Important Dates:

The examination will be conducted on 25th January 2009 (Sunday)

The Information Bulletins with Application Forms will be available for sale from 20th October, 2008 to 10th November, 2008

The last date for the receipt of filled applications: 22nd November, 2008.

The applications posted from abroad, or from remote areas, viz., Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J & K State, Lahaul & Spiti districts and Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep, the last date will be 29th November 2008.
