WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in-interview on 17th and 18th October 2008 between 9.30 am to 11.00 am for the following temporary posts to work under the ad-hoc research projects at Directorate of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

17th October 2008

I. ICAR project entitled Intellectual property management and Transfer/Commercialization of Agricultural Technology Scheme ( Up scalling of excisting component i.e. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) under ICAR Headquarters Scheme on management and Information Services”. Duration: 1 year and extendable further.

Research Associate (Agribusiness Management - 1 post):

Qualifications:

i)Essential: Post graduate degree in in any branch of of Life Sciences including agriculture and allied fields with agri-business specialization/MBA in AgriBusiness; Knowledge in Intellectual property rights (IPR) Laws along with Protection and Commercialization of technologies; Superior writing and Communication skills

ii)Desirable: Highly skilled in computer applications, familiarity with prior art searches, FTO analysis, regulatory processes, business significance of patent claims, ability to work with a team with a excellent interpersonal skills.

iii)Emoluments: Rs.17,000/-p.m.plus HRA.

Project Assistant- I (1 post work in Mahboobnagar, project implementation site)

Qualifications:

i)Essential: M.Sc.(Agriculture) or MSc from a recognized university or equivalent

ii)Desirable: Experience in in field extension work. Willing to work in rural areas. Experience in conducting surveys and basic knowledge in Computers and data analysis.

iii)Emoluments: Rs.8,000/-p.m. (consolidated)

Project Assistant- II (1 post work in Mahboobnagar, project implementation site)

Qualifications:

i)Essential: Diploma in Agriculture/BSc (Agriculture) or BSc from a recognized university.

ii)Desirable: Experience in in field extension work. Willing to work in rural areas. Experience in conducting surveys and basic knowledge in Computers and data analysis.

iii)Emoluments: Rs.5,000/-p.m. (consolidated)

18th October 2008

Research Associate (1 Post)

NAIP Project on “Research into Development of Decision Support System for Insect pests of major Rice and Cotton based Cropping Systems". Duration: 1 year and extendable further.

Qualifications:

i)Essential: MSc/MSc (Ag)

ii)Desirable: PhD in Entomology, Experience in working in the fields of rice entrology and forecasting of pests and diseases of rice.

iii)Emoluments: Rs.17,000/-p.m.plus HRA.

Research Associate (1 Post)

ICAR National Fund Project on “Molecular basis of insect-plant interaction in rice". Duration: 1 year and extendable further.

Qualifications:

i)Essential: MSc in Agriculture /or any branch of Life Sciences with 2 years experience with relevant publications or PhD in Agriculture or any branch of Life Sciences.

ii)Desirable: Research experience in plant/insect interaction related field knowledge and or experience on Entomological techniques, insects/plant genetics, plant breeding, biotechnology/biochemistry tools and equipments.

iii)Emoluments: Rs.18,000/-p.m.plus HRA

Senior Research Fellow (2 Posts)

DBT Project on “Field efficacy and impact analysis of entomopathogenic nematodes for the control of Helicoverpa armigera in pulses and tomato and yellow stem borer Scrpophaga incertulas in rice". Duration: 1 year and extendable further.

i)Essential: MSc/MSc (Ag) in Nematology/Entomology/Zoology.

ii)Desirable: Experience in working with entomopathogenic nematodes and basic & molecular techniques in Nematology/Entomology

iii)Emoluments: Rs.12,000/-p.m.plus HRA.

Senior Research Fellow (2 Posts)

DUS Project. Duration: upto 31.3.2009 and to be extended further.

i)Essential: MSc in Agricultural /Plant Sciences with field experience

ii)Desirable: Experience in with field work in cereals preferably in germplasm characterization and documentation ans sound knowledge of computer applications.

iii)Emoluments: Rs.12,000/-p.m.plus HRA.

Junior Research Fellow (1 Post)

DBT network project on Functional Genomics of Rice titled "Identification and functional validation of genes related to gall midge resistance". Duration: upto 31.3.2009.

i)Essential: MSc in any branch of Life Sciences

ii)Desirable: Research experience in molecular biology as applied in insect/plant interactions as evidenced by publications.

iii)Emoluments: Rs.12,000/-p.m.plus HRA.

1. Age: (as on 1.10.2008) Below 30 years for men and 35 years for women for JRF & Research Assistant I and below 35 years for men and 40 years for women for SRF. Relaxation of age is admissible as per rules for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

2. The candidate has to produce his/her original certificates, list of publications and other documents at the time of interview for verification and required to submit the bio-data on a format (supplied at the time of interview) affixing a latest photograph along with attested copies of certificates of educational qualifications.

3. The above positions are purely temporary and coterminous with the project/scheme.

4. No TA/DA will be paid to attend he interview.

5. The candidates should bring all original certificates (including PC) along with a set of Xerox and a photo, experience and caste certificate while attending the interview.

6. The Director’s decision will be final and binding in all aspects.
