This school is being organized as a part of the National Mission on Nano Science and Technology. The scope of the school is to provide advanced knowledge to young researchers in this fast moving field. The school will have general lectures as well as laboratory sessions on synthesis of advanced materials and characterization and this
will be followed by two elective focal themes on Nanolithography and Biomedical Applications.
Ph.D. students (with at least one year of experience), Post doctoral RAs and young faculties (age up to 35 years) who are working in this area can apply. The school will be restricted to around 25 participants.
The participants must stay for the full period of the school. Selected participants will be provided with to and for train fare in AC-3 tier, local hospitality.

The application must contain a CV, address of contact (with e-mail if available), record of past academic achievements, area of research and research experience and publications (must for RAs and faculties). A prescribed format for application is available in the website: http://www.bose.res.in/.
The candidates must give a choice of which of the two elective focal themes he/she would like to participate: (A) Nanolithography, (B) Application in Biomedical areas.
The selection will be made by an expert committee and will be intimated to the candidates by 10 December 2008. The selected candidates must pre-register by paying a registration fee of Rs 1000 within 10 days of intimation. Those who attended the first three advanced schools held in Bangalore and Kolkata need not apply.
