Qualifications
Essential:
First class with not less than 60% aggregate marks
M.Sc. Forestry / Botany / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Plant sciences / Horticulture / Agriculture with specialization in Tree / Crop Physiology / M.Pharm / Pharmacology
Desirable:
Computer proficiency & previous research experience
Duration 2-3 years
Projects
- Progeny testing of selected clones for establishment of clonal and seedling seed orchards in Eucalyptus
- Genetics improvement of Casuarina species through second generation orchards
- Identification of bio-chemical markers linked to sex determination in Casuarina equisetifolia
- Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) mapping in Eucalypts for salinity tolerance and adventitious rooting
- Identification of secondary xylem specific cellulose synthase genes from Eucalyptus tereticornis
- Studies on response of important tree species to elevated Co2 levels at seedling stage
- Some phytochemical toxicological pharmacological investigations of Aegle marmelos for a new product
- Characterization of Eucalyptus clones for physiological and nutritional parameters
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Only short listed candidates will be called for interview. If it is so desired, a written test may also be held. (The date and time for the same will be informed accordingly).
2. The above positions are purely contractual, time bound and co-terminus with the projects.
3. The engagement under above does not confer any right claim whatsoever either explicity or implicitly for any regular appointment in ICFRE or any of its institutes against any post or otherwise under any legal conditions or precedent.
4. Persons engaged for above positions under the projects are not eligible for registration for Ph.D by
way of research without permission of the Director / Dy. Director General or equivalent.
5. Engagement of the persons under above projects automatically stand terminated after the
completion of project or duration of engagement whichever is earlier.
6. No TA/DA will be paid participating in written test/interview.

of 5 and 3 years in case of SC/ST and OBC respectively.
