About Workshop

Nanobiotechnology has evolved into a major player in the past decade with rapid advances in synthesis, characterization and fabrication techniques in nanotechnology. Novel applications such as tissue engineering, programmable release systems, nanobiosensors and durable and biocompatible implants are off-shoots of the progress in nanotechnology. The Indo-Japanese Workshop in “Nanobiotechnology & Nanodevices” will serve to establish partnerships on research and technology transfer specifically aimed at supporting the needs of key industrial sectors in the two aspects – enhancing regional innovation and R&D capacity. The workshop will serve to:

  • Facilitate extensive exchange of information
  • Reinforce ongoing co-operation
  • Coordinate calls for proposals
  • Provide support for the training of students, scientists, engineers, and technical experts between the two countries

The purpose of this workshop is to respond to these emerging challenges and to simultaneously develop coordinated efforts in nanotechnology to tackle broad healthcare problems of importance to society.

The Indo-Japanese workshop on “Nanobiotechnology & Nanodevices” organized by SASTRA University has been arranged at a time when the need for engineering technologies to combat, diagnose, and cure diseases is increasing in developed and developing countries. The Workshop will present some path-breaking findings from research laboratories in India and Japan that could revolutionalize the health care industry.

This event will bring together eminent scientists, researchers, and both medical and industry professionals from India and Japan to demonstrate how the fusion of skills across disciplines of nanotechnology have metamorphosized medical sciences and the society as a whole. The workshop will serve to demonstrate the intrinsic ability of nanotechnology to drive new paradigm shifts in healthcare and will address the advantages of miniaturization for early diagnosis and patient care.
