Microbial genomics and microbial biotechnology research is critical for advances in food safety, food security, biotechnology, value-added products, human nutrition and functional foods, plant and animal protection, and furthering fundamental research in the agricultural sciences.
Keeping in view the enormous potential of microbial biotechnology on mankind and the environment this conference is being organsied to highlight the following:
- SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS
- SESSION I: Life in Extreme Environments
- SESSION II: Drug Discovery: A new approach to novel drugs
- SESSION III: Bioremediation: A microbial response to recalcitrants
- SESSION IV: Designer microbes
The participants interested in presenting Oral/Poster may send their abstracts (mentioning the session in which the paper should be considered) to the Organising Secretary by E-mail latest by February 10th, 2009. The format for the abstracts may be obtained from the website of the conference. The abstracts will be evaluated by the scientific committee and their decision will be final
REGISTRATION
All the participants are required to register themselves by filling in the enclosed Registration Form. The Registration fee is as follows:

Industry Participants Rs. 3000
Students Rs. 400
Accompanying Person Rs. 1500
Foreign Delegate USD 300
(If accommodation is required at a hotel the actual cost will have to be borne by the participant. Details will be available on the conference website)
The Registration Form along with the requisite fee must reach the Organising Secretary at Panjab University, chandigarh, latest by February 10th 2009. The fee must be paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the "Organising Secretary, MICROCON 2009" and payable at Chandigarh. Registration would entitle entry into the complete program of the conference and including all the scientific sessions.
