PhD Programmes for the session July 2009

The Ph.D. Programmes are offered in the following Department.

Biotechnology

Areas : Bio Transformations, Enzyme Technology, Downstream Processing, Upstream Processing, Protein Engineering, Bioinformatics.

The Ph.D. Programmes offered are (a) on fulltime basis and (b) Part-time basis.

Selection

The candidates will be selected through an institute entrance test and/or an interview.

Fellowships

The candidates for PhD under Fulltime basis are eligible to receive institute fellowship as follows. The tenure of a research scholarship is three years only.

(a) Candidates joining with Master's degree in, Engineering / Technology or a

degree recognized as equivalent thereto.

Rs. 14,000/- per month, for the first two years

Rs. 15,000/- per month, in the third year.

(b) Candidates joining with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology or Master's degree in Science, Arts or M.Com or MBA or a degree recognized as equivalent to any of them.

Rs. 12,000/- per month, for the first two years

Rs. 14,000/- per month, in the third year.
