Qualification:-

M.Sc. first class in Botany/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Microbiology with DBT- JRF, CSIR-UGC NET including NET (LS) or valid GATE score. The selected JRF will be allowed to register for Ph.D. Non NET/GATE qualified candidates may also be considered for Project Assistant (PA, level-II) if found suitable.

General Conditions:-

The Discipline of Marine Biotechnology and Ecology of CSMCRI, Bhavnagar is actively engaged in multidisciplinary research in frontier areas of modern biology and biotechnology. Some of the ongoing/new projects (sponsored by CSIR, DBT, DST, etc) of the Discipline for which we wish to recruit 7 Junior Research Fellows are:

· Cloning and characterization of stress-responsive genes, promoter isolation and development of transgenic crop plants

· Climate change and adaptation- Proteomics in relation to climate change variability

· Seaweed cultivation and value addition

· Mapping of marine biodiversity (seaweeds and marine microbes) using molecular tools and techniques
