Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics

Who can apply Graduates/Postgraduates from Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, Agriculture, Veterinary or any Lifescience discipline.
The course provides competence in computational biology/bioinformatics by training students in the areas of cell/molecular biology, computer science, statistics, chemistry and drug design. Related topics like IPR, entrepreneurship and clinical trials are also taught.
Postgraduate Diploma in Biotechniques
(8/14 months, without/with internship)
Who can apply M.Sc. in any Lifescience discipline, B.Tech. (Biotech) and MBBS students.
The course creates dependable, all round laboratory professionals through extensive hands on training in recombinant DNA technology. Training in related techniques includes cell and tissue culture, microarray, FPLC and 2-D electrophoresis. The course also focuses on imparting abilities in related topics such as user-end bioinformatics
and IPR.
Scholarships and studentships Merit scholarships and studentships, sponsored by Millipore, Sartorius, Strand Life Sciences, Accelrys and Merck are offered at the beginning of the course to economically needy students.
Exemption from Entrance Test Those who have cleared CSIR/NET, IISc, AIIMS, GATE (written exam) are exempted from entrance test but must appear for an interview at IBAB at a later date.
