The following vacancies, purely on temporary basis for non-institutional project posts will be filled initially for one year by National Institute of Virology for its field Unit at Gorakhpur, BRD Medical College Campus, Gorakhpur – 273 013, (Uttar Pradesh)

1. RESEARCH SCIENTIST - II - One Vacancy

Qualifications

Essential : (i) MBBS Degree or First Class Masters Degree in Life/Biological
Sciences or relevant biological subjects
OR
Second Class Masters Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or relevant biological discipline subjects with Ph.D

(ii) Four years research experience in the relevant areas

Desirable : (i) Doctorate Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or MD with First Class.
(ii) Additional Post Doctoral Research/Teaching experience in relevant subjects.
(iii) Knowledge of computer applications.

Job Requirements :
Research at Gorakhpur Lab related to epidemiology of viral encephalitis. Supervision of the diagnostic tests carried out at Unit

Desirable : Sound knowledge of the virology especially of clinical aspects of viral
encephalitis. Plan and undertake serosurveys. Candidate should understand various concepts in molecular biology and immunology.

Consolidated Fixed Salary : Rs.24625/- p.m. (Medical) Rs.19700/- p.m. (Non-Medical)

3. TECHNICAL OFFICER (LAB) – One Vacancy – (Serology)

Qualifications :
Essential : Post Graduate with five years experience or Graduate with eight years
experience or DMLT with Ten years experience in Life / Biological Sciences.
Age: Not exceeding 35 Years.

Job Requirements : Responsible for managing various serological tests. Sound knowledge of serological tests including handling of viruses and animal cell cultures would also be required. Person would also be responsible for Quality assurance of the serological tests.
Knowledge of computer applications.
Consolidated Fixed Salary : Rs.12805/- p.m.

4. TECHNICAL OFFICER (LAB) – One Vacancy – (Entomology)

Qualifications :

Essential : Post Graduate with five years experience or Graduate with eight years
experience or DMLT with Ten years experience in Life / Biological Sciences.
Age: Not exceeding 35 Years.

Job Requirements : Coordinating the entomological work for in endemic areas of
encephalitis. Sound knowledge of entomological techniques like mosquito collection, identification and vectorial studies. Knowledge in GIS and outbreak prediction modules.
Knowledge of computer applications

Consolidated Fixed Salary : Rs.12805/- p.m.

5. RESEARCH ASSISTANT : One Vacancy – (Serology)

Qualifications :
Essential : Post Graduate Degree in Life/Biological Sciences
Age: Not exceeding 28 Years.
Job Requirements : Responsible for planning and carrying out various serological tests. A sound knowledge of trouble shooting in serological tests including handling of viruses and animal cell cultures is required. Knowledge of computer applications.
Consolidated Fixed Salary : Rs.9850/- p.m.
