Research Scientist Position

We are looking for motivated research scientists to work in novel and interesting projects at Pondicherry Biotech Private Limited, which is an early-stage biotech company.

He/she will apply recent advances in molecular and cellular biology to synthesize, target and modify genes in mammalian and plant cells and analyse scientific results, provide oral and written reports, and update with literature and technological
developments.

Minimum requirements

• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Yeast Genetics and Biology or a related field and have at least 2–3 years of relevant laboratory research experience. Candidates with MD degree with relevant basic science and laboratory research experience are also encouraged to apply.

• Experience and in-depth knowledge, pertaining to recent advances in molecular biology is required, which include design and implementation of cloning strategies, PCR, DNA isolation and manipulation, sequence analysis, western and southern blots.
• The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in recombinant DNA, cloning and mammalian/plant cell culture.

• The candidates are expected to have basic computer knowledge and experience in basic bioinformatics tools.

• Successful candidates are expected to have strong work ethics, excellent oral and written communication skills in English and the ability to function in an interdisciplinary team setting are essential.

• Salary will commensurate with research experience in the related fields.
