Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa invites applications for
PhD (3) positions for doctoral studies in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnologies
based on CV, work to date and possibly interview
The competition is open to both Italians and non-Italians.
The doctoral program is conducted in partnership with the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in Trieste. Work on the doctorate will begin in January 2010.
Length of doctorate and fellowships
Doctoral programs last for three years. Students may be offered an additional internship for one year at the end of the three years of study. Winners will receive a fellowship each year, which for the 2009/2010 academic year totals €15,600/year gross (€9,200 academic fellowship, €3,800 allowance for housing outside the structures of the Scuola Normale and €2,600 allowance for living costs while outside Pisa). Payment of the monies is dependent on the fulfillment of academic obligations by the students. ICGEB will pay both the fellowships and the other allowances monthly. Students receiving these monies cannot have other work or study obligations.
