Recruitment for Lecturers in Reserved Category

Ravenshaw, one of the premier educational institutions in the country, was established in 1868 in the town of Cuttack in Orissa. After one hundred and forty years of eventful existence, it was converted into Ravenshaw University by an Act of the State Legislature on November 15, 2006. Thus as one of the heritage educational institutions, and as a young university, Ravenshaw is a veritable blend of the old and the new.

As a part of the endeavour the university invites applications for the following positions of Lecturers in reserved category.

Department

Botany - 1 Post

Zoology - 1 Post

Essential Qualification:

Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the seven point scale with letter grades, O,A,B,C,D,E and F at the Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University. Since the posts are for the reserved categories, the percentage will be relaxed as per the UGC rules. Besides candidates having qualification as stated in the notes below will also be considered.

Besides fulfilling the qualifications, applicants should have cleared the eligibility tests for lecturers conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar tests accredited by the UGC. However, candidates who have doctoral degrees in the subject are exempted from appearing the eligibility test for lecturers.

The application fee of Rs.250/- is to be payable at Cuttack, favouring Ravenshaw University. After the application is completed in the specified format giving the bank draft details, it should be submitted by clicking on ‘submit’. A print out should be taken before submission and should be submitted along with the bank draft so as to reach the Registrar, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack-3 by September 9, 2009, Wednesday.
