Interaction with Nobel Laureates and Eminent Scientists

Target Audience
Invitations are sent to students from Universities, Colleges, Institutions offering degrees in science education all over India, through the nominations of their Vice-Chancellors / Directors / Heads of Department, of their meritorious students. About 600-700 students, teachers and young scientists are screened from all over the country for promotion of basic sciences and research.
Subsequently, the number and reach of participants was proposed to be increased to include other Asian countries as well. This would be the second time in Asia that a gathering of this magnitude had the chance to interact with Nobel Laureates for such a long span of time (the first one being the First Science Conclave in 2008 itself).
And as the INSPIRE Program initiated by DST, Govt. of India commences during that period, bright young school children also get a lifetime opportunity to interact with Nobel brains quite early in their life so as to give a push up to their careers.Criteria for Nomination / Selection:
a) For Students - (i) 1st Year of M.Sc. with First Division in B.Sc. (3rd year)
(ii) 3rd Year of B.Sc. with First Division in B.Sc. (2nd Year)
b) For Teachers - (i) Age of nominee should be less than 35 years as on 30.6.2009
(ii) Nomination is valid for a single person – spouses, relatives not allowed
