Short-term Training Course in Biotechnology

Applications on plain paper are invited for the shot-term training course in Biotechnology, ‘Hands on training course on gene expression studies and analysis’ for college teachers and research scholars involved in research and training in Life Sciences and Biotechnology for a period of 3 weeks from 23 November 2009 to 14 December 2009.

The course is mainly practical oriented with supportive theory classes, special lectures and invited lectures. Gene expression studies and analysis will be conducted using transient transfection with reporter gene analysis for specific gene promoter activation, Northern blotting with RT-PCR, and Western blotting with ELISA at gene, m-RNA and protein levels respectively.

Eligibility: Teachers (UG/PG) with regular position and teaching Life Sciences or Biotechnology, at colleges affiliated to any University in Karnataka or from autonomous colleges located in Karnataka and Research Scholars enrolled for Ph.D. programme (Life Sciences) of University of Mysore, Mysore are eligible to apply.
Number of participants are limited to 20. Selection of candidates is based on review of applications by an expert committee. Interested teachers and research scholars should forward their application on plain paper with bio-data through proper channel to the following address so as to reach on or before 31 October 2009 to the course director.
