Course contents:
 Extraction and purification of genetic material of pathogens from various sources like blood, semen, clinical tissues, faecal samples, etc.
 Isolation and purification of genomic DNA from blood, semen, tissues, etc.
 Electrophoretic separation of nucleic acid.
 RNA-Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis for segmented viruses.
 RT-PCR based amplification of viral genes and cDNA synthesis.
 DNA fingerprinting.
 DNA markers like RAPD,RFLP etc.
 Plasmid isolation from transformed bacteria.
 Molecular cloning of viral genes.
 In silico Primer designing.
 Analysis of nucleotide sequence.
 Sequence alignment tools e.g. BLAST.
 Phylogenetic analysis of sequence data.
Course Fees: Indian participants are requested to pay a sum of Rs. 5000/- (Rs five
thousand only) while for foreign delegates US$ 200 per week as registration fee. The registration fee shall be deposited in cash at the time of registration on 3rd November.

Number of participants: The maximum number of participants shall not exceed 20.

Participants and eligibility: Participants are invited from ICAR Institutes/ SAU/Basic Science Institutes/ Sate Governments/Private Organizations. They should be graduates having interest in the training.

How to apply: The application for participation may be sent in prescribed format, duly forwarded by Head of the institution. It should reach to the Course Director latest by October 28, 2009 by post, fax or email.
