Assistant Professor

[sanctioned under a project by the DBT, GOI for a period of five (5) years]

Pay Band of Rs. 15,600-39,100/- (PB-3) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/- and other allowances admissible as per Government of India rules.

Qualification

1. Good academic record with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade where grading system is practiced at the Master’s degree level in a relevant subject (Life science and related disciplines) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

3. Holders of Ph.D. degree awarded through a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down in the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedures for award of M.Phil. / Ph.D. Degree), Regulations, 2009 and so adopted by the University, shall be exempted from NET / SLET / SET.

4. NET / SLET / SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET / SLET / SET is not conducted subject to the conditions stipulated in these Regulations in Clause 3.3.3.

Completed application in the prescribed form (one copy) along with necessary enclosures (one set) is to reach the University in the address “The Registrar, Tezpur University, Napaam-784 028” on or before 08 December, 2009. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed “Application for the post of Assistant Professor (OBC) in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology”. A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 300/- (Exempted for the PWD candidates) in the form of Demand Draft only drawn on any nationalised bank in favour of The Registrar, Tezpur University, payable at Tezpur, must be submitted along with the application. The Demand Draft should not be drawn before the date of issue of this advertisement and should remain valid at least for six months. Candidates must write their names and the post applied for on the reverse of the Bank Draft.
