PhD Positions in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry

Department of Chemical Sciences at IISER Bhopal seeks motivated candidates for pursuing PhD programme in the fields of Theoretical/Computational Chemistry, Chemical Physics, and Biophysics.

Applicants should have a Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or a related science or engineering area with excellent academic record.

There is no deadline.

Consideration of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.

Research topics cover the following areas:

1. Theory and Simulation of Biological and Condensed Phase Systems:

Large scale   simulations using various computational methods (molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo, and stochastic dynamics) to determine the interactions governing the structure, function, and long-time dynamics of bio-molecules (proteins and nucleic acids); classical and quantum simulations of simple and complex fluids.

2. Nanomaterials for Energy Applications (solar cells and solar fuels):

Large scale computational studies involving ground and excited state electronic structure calculations, charge-transfer dynamics at interfaces in solar cells and ab initio design of solar fuels.
