General Job Description:

The Integrity database compiles information related to the drug R&D in all different knowledge areas (KA). The Drugs and Biologics KA includes biologics (vaccines, antibodies...) from various sources: peer-reviewed scientific literature, patents, conference proceedings and regulatory alerts. The primary responsibility of the BPLA will be to read scientific publications, identify data related to the biologics and related information such as mechanism of action, therapeutic activity etc. Eventually a brief summary from patent sources will be produced. The BPLA is also accountable for ensuring the KA is filled with drug data in a timely manner.

The BPLA will use extensive knowledge of database management to ensure commercial-grade filling of the database from both manual and automated curation formats, ensuring high quality standards, while working to incorporate competitive best practices into the curation workflow.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

1. Analysis of Biological patent and life sciences journals, mainly in the immunological area, in order to extract relevant information regarding promising therapeutic agents and established drugs with novel indications.
2. Selection and characterization of novel therapeutic agents including their description, mechanism of action, therapeutic activity, etc. for their inclusion in in-house database.
3. Comprehensive searches for most interesting compounds through different databases to retrieve related patents, articles and meeting presentations including analysis of biotechnology companies websites.

Qualifications:

· A good knowledge of immunology/biotechnology
· A theoretical knowledge in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and clinics (understanding of in vitro/in vivo tests used for the determination of drug's pharmacological activies)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· A good team player with the ability to introduce new tools for work organization.
· Well organized and disciplined with regards policy, procedure and standards.
· Can set priorities and be flexible in a changing environment.
· Able to work under high pressure conditions.

Education: 

· Educated to Masters/Mphil/PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, and Biotechnology or related Life Sciences.
· High English level.
· Preferably, able to understand written German and French.
