PhD Positions in Computational Chemistry/Biomolecular Modeling and Simulations

Applications are invited from motivated candidates for pursuing PhD programme in the theoretical/computational chemistry and biomolecular modeling research group of Dr. Rajesh K. Murarka at the Department of Chemistry of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal.
The research projects involve:

  • Developement and application of state-of-the-art molecular dynamics simulation techniques to understand the physics of the interactions governing the structure, function, and dynamics of bio-molecules (proteins and nucleic acids) at different length and time scales and its coupling with the surrounding solvent environment.

  • Use of the various classical molecular simulation methods and ab initio quantum simulations to study the structural and dynamical properties of liquids (in particular, water and room-temperature ionic liquids), and the nature of solvation energetics and dynamics in these systems.
Applicants should have a Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry, Biophysics or a related science or engineering area with excellent academic record and a valid GATE/CSIR-UGC-NET (JRF/LS)/JEST/DBT-JRF certificate.

The selected candidates will be awarded scholarship as per the rules of Government of India.

To apply or for more informations, candidates are requested to contact Dr. Rajesh K. Murarka at rkm@iiserbhopal.ac.in
