Streams

Any student entering the Saha Institute joins in one of the two streams of studies: Physics and Bio-Physical Sciences. Each student must successfully complete one year Post-M.Sc courses in the respective subjects (Physics/Biophysical Sciences). This course will cover introduction to theoretical approaches to the advanced topics in current research scenario, and will expose students to mathematical/computational skills and will give a flavor of essential state-of-the-art experimental techniques required for carrying out advanced research.

Requirements



  • Qualified in NET examination (with a CSIR/UGC fellowship valid at least until August 2010, when the session starts)



  • Holder of Masters degree in Physical/Chemical/Biological Sciences (or appearing in the final examination in 2010).



  • General Aptitude and basic knowledge in

    • Physics and Mathematics (for students applying to the Physics Stream)

    • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (for students applying to the Bio-Physical Sciences Stream)
    Candidates will have to appear in an interview. Dates will be announced later.
