RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

DST funded Indo-Spanish bilateral programme on “Functional significance of Potyviral Hc-Pro interaction with host and vector factors”.

The selected candidate will be required to study the interaction of potyviral RNAi suppressor protein Hc- Pro and proteins involved in plants’ RNAi machinery with the overall goal to establish the host – viral interaction. The primary research focus will be on the molecular biology of virus establishment in their host. Research will include developing an understanding of the mechanism of host -virus protein interactions. Cloning, mutation work, protein and gene expression and bio informatics analysis are the essential components of the job requirement. Host-viral interaction studies include yeast two hybrid system, YFP and GFP vector based techniques.

QUALIFICATION:

Applicant must have a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Plant Pathology, Biotechnology or a related field with hands on experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics and use of state-of-the art technology employed in ant pathology. Individuals with background in biochemistry, molecular biology, virology skills are especially encouraged to apply.

SALARY:Rs. 22000 pm + HRA as admissible.
