Institute Of Computational Biology, Bangalore is organizing a 7 days training program on Microarray Data Analysis and Systems Biology focusing on different aspects of Microarray, Systems Biology including hands on sessions on R, Matlab & Bioconductor & Cell Designer.

What will I learn?

There will be 8-10 lectures (~25% of the course) which will give insight into how biological knowledge can be generated from microarray experiments and illustrate different ways of analyzing such data

The practical sessions (~75% of the course) will consist of computer exercises that will enable the participants to apply statistical methods to the analysis of microarray data under the guidance of the lecturers and teaching assistants

On the last day, participants will have the chance to analyze their own data and discuss the results with the trainers

What will it cover?

Fundamental steps in the analysis of microarray data including pre-processing, exploratory analysis and quality assessment

Principles of experimental design

Introduction to R and Bioconductor

Focus on the Bioconductor package limma and the use of linear models for the assessment of differential expression

Overview of various open source software for microarray data analysis.

Batch 1 => Sept 1^st – 7^th, 2010 (7 Days).

Batch 2 => Oct 1^st – 7^th, 2010 (7 Days).
