ABOUT MICROBIAL BIOTECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
The Department of Microbial Biotechnology was instituted during the academic year 2008 as a component of School of iotechnology and Genetic Engineering.The department is actively engaged in research, teaching and extension activities. Faculty of the department undertake various sponsored research projects funded by DST, AICTE, DBT, CSIR, TNCSTE,DOE, and DRDO to a sum of about Rs.1.2 crores.
The department also received DST-FIST and UGC-SAP financial support from the year 2007 onwards.The department.is the major partner in the Defence Research and Development Organization- Bharathiar University-Centrefor Life Sciences (BU-DRDO CLS)
