THE SYMPOSIUM

The knowledge in biological sciences has increased in an exploding manner in last 4 decades and biotechnology has emerged as a great promising area in all disciplines of biology. Hence there has been an upsurge in interest in biotechnology and a large number of programs and institutions have come up throughout the country.

Simultaneously questions regarding safety and security of humans, animals and other organisms are also being raised especially because of the development of new technologies and products. In view of this we are organizing a national symposium on "Modern Approaches and Innovations in Biotechnology" from November 14 to 15, 2010 at the College of Applied education and Health Sciences (CAEHS), Roorkee Road, Meerut.
Abstracts for presentation (oral or poster) in any area of Biotechnology may be submitted to the Organizing Secretary along with duly filled Registration Form (as per format given) and the Registration Fee of Rs. 500.00 (to participate only} or Rs. 800.00 (to participate and presentation and publication of article in the proceedings) in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, CAEHS and payable at Meerut or in Cash deposited at the college counter. The registration fee covers charges for registration material, tea, lunch and dinner during the symposium. It does not cover accommodation charges and breakfast. Abstract to be submitted should not exceed 200 words but clearly mention the objectives, strategy and findings. Abstracts should be typed in MS word in Times New Roman font with font size 12; but title in 18 font. Name of the presenting author should be in bold font. Few papers will be selected for oral presentation and rest will be presented as posters. Three best oral as well as three best poster presentations will be awarded.

Posters to be presented should be printed on a 4'X3' sheet (in either portrait or landscape orientation) giving title (52 font), names (36 font) and addresses (24 font) of authors Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion with text in 20 font and headings in 24 font. Tables, figures and photographs should be appropriately placed.

Last date of registration is October 12, 2010, beyond which a late fee Rs. 200/- will also be charged. Acceptance of abstracts will be communicated to all participants by October 25, 2010.
