OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
Molecular biology pertains to the study of living systems at the molecular level, especially DNA and RNA, and provides a background appropriate for further work in the rapidly expanding areas of genomics, cell biology, biotechnology, microbiology, diagnostics, and therapeutics. This is a fifteen-day course for those interested in learning both fundamental and advanced-level molecular biology techniques for the diagnosis of leptospirosis.
CONTENTS OF THE TRAINING COURSE
Principles of Molecular Biology Techniques
Recombinant antigen based ELISA
Recombinant antigen based Latex agglutination Test
Plasmid DNA , Genomic DNA and RNA isolation
Polymerase chain reaction - RAPD, Rep-PCR
Fingerprinting, Real-Time PCR, AFLP, 16s rRNA and MLST typing
Cloning and expression analysis of leptospiral genes
Protein profiling and Immunoblotting techniques
Southern & Northern blotting
ELIGIBILITY FOR SELECTION
Scientist, Research scholars and faculties working in various Life science programmes and research in government and private sectors.

Candidate must have a post graduate degree and should send their application through proper channel to the course director.

REGISTRATION FEES 

Rs. 2500/- per individual to be paid in the form of Demand draft in favour of “CONVENER TRAINING WORKSHOP = MOLECULAR BIOLOGICAL TECHNIQUE” payable at Tiruchirappalli.
It includes workshop materials and working lunch. The participants are encouraged to make their own arrangement for stay.
