Recruitment of Research Associates/Junior Research Fellows/Technical Assistant

The Inter-University Centre for Genomics and Gene Technology is a Government of Kerala funded initiative. The newly established Centre is an inter-disciplinary multi-institutional facility which focuses on frontier areas of research including DNA diagnostics, recombinant vaccine development, genetic engineering, plant/animal tissue culture, protein engineering and microbial technology. This centre aims to bridge the lacunae in the available modern research technologies in various research institutions/university departments across the country, and to promote research cooperation between academics and industry in order to better understand the complex influences that shape industrial enterprises. Highly motivated candidates with an ability to drive envisaged research programmes in the above mentioned thrust areas are invited to apply for the following positions tenable for a period of three years.

Essential qualifications

Research Associate: Ph.D. in Plant Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Genomics/Animal Biotechnology. Candidates with independent research experience and publications in peer reviewed journals will be preferred.

Age: Below 40 years.

Junior Research Fellow: M.Sc. First Class in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology with consistent good academic record. Preference will be given to NET qualified candidates. JRF’s with NET can register for Ph.D. degree in the University of Kerala.

Age: Below 30 years.

Technical Assistant: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Biochemistry with at least two years experience in reputed research laboratories.

Age: Below 30 years.
