Women Scientist Scholarship Scheme

Training of women candidates on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) 

Centre for International Co-operation in Science (CICS) is partnering with Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC)  of Department of Science and Technology in the training of women candidates in the areas of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).The selected candidates will be trained in IPR during 12 month period and paid monthly scholarship.

The objective of this programme is to empower the talented and skilled women who have studied science, engineering, medicine and allied areas to contribute effectively in the advancement of science and technology in the country and to develop a pool of women in India ready to undertake scientific and technical aspects of Intellectual Property Rights.

Eligibility
1.    Candidates should have completed M.Sc or Ph.D in physical sciences, chemical sciences, life sciences, or B.tech/B.E, or M.Tech /M.E, or Ph. D in Engineering or Technology, or MBBS/MS/MD/MVSc/MPharma or equivalent degree with good academic record. Candidates with higher qualification can also apply.
2.    Candidates should have good familiarity with computers in handling databases, surfing the net and information searches.
3.    Candidates with experience in research, preparing project reports and thesis writing will be preferred.
4.    Candidates should not be more than 50 years of age.

Selection Procedure

Selection would be through a national level written test and interview.

The last date for receipt of application is 20 December 2010.
