Applications are invited from Indian nationals for admission to PhD programmes in Department of Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering Applications will be accepted till Dec 15th, 2010.

- The minimum qualification for admission is 65% in both previous degrees for GE, at least 60% in both and at least 65% in one for OBC and at least 60% in both for SC/ST candidates.
- Candidates should qualify one of the below criteria
(a) GATE
(b) CSIR/UGC JRF / NBHM / DBT award
Please note that more stringent criteria may be used in short-listing candidates to be called for interview.
(a) PhD in Biomedical Engineering
Eligibility criteria: MSc in Physics, or any related sciences or MTech in ANY Engineering sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Optoelectronics, Applied Optics or Fiber Optics.
Area of Research: Biomedical imaging Optics and Optical Information Processing.
Students who are in the last semester of their Masters or MTech Programme are also eligible to apply. Final offer will be made only on the completion of their degree.
(b) PhD in Biotechnology
Eligibility criteria: Masters degree in all areas of Life Sciences and Biotechnology.
Procedure for applying
o Take DD Rs.200 in favor of “IIT Hyderabad” payable at IIT Hyderabad.
o Write the DD Number in the space provide in the application.
o On the back side of the DD write your Name and Department.
o Attach the scanned copy of DD along with the email application and also send the Original DD along with Hard copy of application.
Post the hard copy of the application to the following address:
