Applications are invited for the following position in the PG Dept of Marine Biology, Karnatak University, Karwar, under a research project ‘To Develop a Scientific Approach for in situ Validation and Demonstration of Potential Fishing Zone (PFZ) off Karwar Coast’ sanctioned by Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt of India, Hyderabad for a period of two years. The study involves validation of PFZ by fishing trips off Karwar, acceptance and validation of advisory by fishermen, establishing food web of fish species, diversity studies and population analysis of selected species.

Post 1. One Junior Research Fellow (Rs 12,000 p.m. plus admissible HRA)

 

Essential:

(1) M.Sc. Marine Biology, MFSC, Environmental Science and Bioscience/Zoology.

(2) Knowledge of computation.
(3) Knowledge of Remote sensing and GIS.

Post 2. One Technical Assistant/Field Assistant (Rs 8000 p.m. consolidated) 

Essential:

(1) M.Sc. Marine Biology, MFSC, Environmental Science and Bioscience/Zoology.
(2) Knowledge of computation.
