ABOUT THE PROGRAM The Department of Biotechnology, Karunya University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu cordially invites you to participate in the Short Term Training Course (STTC) on “Advanced Techniques in Animal Cell Culture” on 24th Jan 2011 to 5th Feb 2011. The aim of this training program is to provide a blend of traditional methodologies with more contemporary procedures in cell culture including cytogenetic studies, maintenance and preservation of cell lines, viral inoculation, monoclonal antibodies production and tissue engineering. Cell culture is an emerging multidisciplinary field involving biology, medicine, and engineering that is likely to revolutionize the ways to improve the health and quality of life for millions of people worldwide by restoring, maintaining, or enhancing tissue and organ function.
Lectures are delivered by experienced and eminent scientists and researchers from reputed organisations. Apart from the lectures, demonstration and hands on training on the various research and cell culture techniques are covered during the training period. The training is aimed to equip us to be efficient and to be experts in the field of cell culture.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION Participants should make their own travel arrangements. Registered participants will be provided accommodation on request in Hotels, University hostels or University Guest house. The delegates have to meet the expenses towards boarding and lodging. Participants will be selected based on the first come first serve basis with a maximum of 20 participants.

Selected participants will be intimated through email On 4th January 2011
