Job Description

Do you find yourself correcting badly written ads? Do you read the newspaper and think, “Grrr, so many errors”?

If so, you’re an editor at heart. Now, you can make your love for the language your profession!

If you’re wondering about the people you will be working with, this can only get better. Picture this: 5 offices full of young, dynamic editors, huddled in groups, discussing the pros and cons of using this and that comma, that article, that sentence...the list is endless, and the discussions generally end in cups of coffee, stirred furiously and loudly in the office pantries.

So, what can you bring to this dynamic table?

Quite obviously, you must have excellent written-English skills and be able to work under very tight deadlines. Brush up on your Microsoft Word skills; you will need them to format journal articles. At Cactus, we value a job well done: effective time-management skills and receptiveness to feedback will ensure swift career progression. Prior experience in English editing, writing, content development, or English-language instruction are preferred. A bachelor’s degree (or above) will give your application an added advantage.
