Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Genetic transformation studies
ICRISAT invites applications from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Genetic transformation studies, to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.
Responsibilities: To perform scientific research services related to transformation of the designated crops. To provide help and support to the various research activities in the greenhouse and field experiments related to the transgenic crops. To provide technical help in designing and implementing research experiments.
Requirements: Post Graduate (M.Sc/M.tech) from a reputed university in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Botany/other related subjects with good academic record (1-2 years of experience in transgenics research desirable). Hands-on experience in at least one of the following techniques are desirable: Real-time PCR/HPLC/Protein expression and purification/2D-gel electrophoresis/RNAi based gene silencing/Virus-insect bioassays. Proficiency in Computer skills (MS-Office, database search, bioinformatics). Communication skills in English (both written and oral). Should be a good team player and have experience working in multicultural team.
General: The above position are initially for three years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
