Senior Scientist- (Protein Purification - R&D) 

Job Description 

Job Purpose :

• Responsible for carrying out protein expression, purification, analytical/biochemical characterization and deliverable shipment in custom protein production format.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Primarily responsible for protein expression, purification, and characterization of diverse array of proteins.

• Plan and execute multiple projects in parallel utilizing current concepts, recognize standard techniques and carry out timely troubleshooting

• Understand specific customer requirement and design appropriate quality checks

• Maintenance of protein lab which includes instruments like HPLC, FPLC (Akta) etc.

• Record keeping and data presentation as per Syngene standards.

Desired Profile 

TECHNICAL /FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:

• Proficiency in protein purification using modern chromatographic methods (using FPLC)

• Analytical characterization (SE-HPLC, SDS-PAGE, western blotting, spectrometry, standard biochemical assays)

• Protein conjugation and stability assessment

• Refolding of inclusion bodies

• Biochemical calculations

• Preliminary bioinformatics

• Good communication skills

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: • M. Sc in Biology/Chemistry

WORK EXPERIENCE: 4-5 years.
