International Projects:

Project -1 (FAO/GEF-GBP HQ): Conservation and Management of Pollinators for Sustainable Agriculture through Ecosystem based Approach Position/emoluments/duration/duty station:

(A) National Project Manager - NPM (01); @ Rs 30,000/- or 35,000 pm fixed depending on the experience and qualifications (higher emoluments may be considered in case of highly experienced candidate); initially for one year extendable on annual performance basis; at Kosi- Katarmal, Almora with frequent travel to project sites in Himalayan region.

Qualifications/Experience/Age limit: Doctoral degree in Life/Agricultural/Environmental Sciences with consistently good academic records and excellent communication skills.

Desirable: Over 5 years experience of working on pollinators/entomology/ and/or handling International projects; skills of technical and financial report preparation and accounts management; negotiation skills; Age limit - 50 Years (can be relaxed in case of highly experienced candidates)

Job description: Under the supervision of National Project Coordinator/Principal Investigator monitoring of project progress (technical and financial). Coordinate with several Site Mangers across Indian Himalayan Region and National Project Partners. Conduct extensive surveys in project sites and organize meetings and training sessions. Perform tasks pertaining to the Project Management Unit particularly for preparing desired documents, including technical and financial reports, on the project.

Project -2 (ICIMOD-GBP-HQ): Kailash Sacred landscape Conservation initiative – developing a transboundary framework for conservation and sustainable development.

Desirable: Experience of handling International projects; skills of technical and financial report preparation and accounts management; negotiation skills;

Age limit - 50 Years (can be relaxed in case of highly experienced candidates)

Job description: Under the supervision of Lead Project Coordinator/Principal Investigator NPC will: i) monitor project progress (technical and financial); ii) coordinate with National Project Partners; and iii) conduct extensive field surveys and organize meetings. NPC will be responsible for preparing desired documents, including technical and financial reports, for the project.

National Project:

Project -3 (MoEF-NNRMS-GBP HQ): Inventorization and Monitoring of Biosphere Reserves in India Using Remote sensing and GIS Technology Position/emoluments/duration/duty station:

(A) Scientific Fellow –SF (01); 

@ Rs 25,000/- +HRA; initially for one year at GBPIHED HQs Kosi-katarmal, Almora, with frequent travel in project areas in India.

Qualifications/Experience/Age limit: Doctoral degree in Botany/Zoology/Life Sciences/Geography/ RS-GIS with consistently good academic records and communication skills.

Desirable: Over 05 years experience of working on aspects related to biodiversity assessment/ monitoring and conservation/ Natural resources database management/ application of RS-GIS tools; skills of technical and financial report preparation and accounts management; negotiation skills;

Age limit - 35 Years (can be relaxed in case of highly experienced candidates).

Job description: Under the supervision of Principal Investigator monitoring of project progress (technical and financial); coordinate with other project partners and relevant organizations. Conduct extensive surveys in project sites and prepare relevant documents as per the need of this project.

(B) Junior Research Fellows (06); @ Rs 12,000/- pm +HRA; for one year at different locations of the Himalaya (GBPIHED HQs and Regional Units), with frequent travel in project areas.

Qualifications/Experience/Age limit: First class Masters degree in Botany/Zoology/Life Sciences/Geography/ RS-GIS with consistently good academic records.

Desirable: Experience of working on aspects related to biodiversity assessment, monitoring and conservation, or use of RS/GIS/GPS tools, etc.;

Age limit – 28 Years

Job description: Conduct extensive field surveys, collect and compile information and prepare reports under the supervision of Principal Investigator.

(C) Technical assistant (01); @ Rs 15,000/- PM fixed; initially for one year at GBPIHED HQs Kosi-katarmal, Almora/ or MoEF, New Delhi, with frequent travel in project areas in India.

Qualifications/Experience/Age limit: Bachelors degree from a recognized university.

Desirable: Experience of working on aspects related to office management, computer applications; skills of technical and financial record keeping;

Age limit - 25 Years.
