Reliance Institute of Life Sciences is offering a part-time advanced Diploma program in Clinical Research for the academic years of 2011 and 2012. The program aims to impart training in various areas of clinical research viz. clinical trial operations, clinical trial management, medical writing, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, biometrics, bioavailability and bioequivalence study. The details of the program are given below.
 

Advanced Diploma in Clinical Research

1. Program [12 months – part time one day a week (Saturday) 6 hours per day]

The following modules will be taught during the program:
 

1. Good Clinical Practices (GCP) & regulatory overview
2. Preclinical Studies and Pharmacology
3. Clinical study document preparation
4. Clinical trial initiation
5. Site initiation
6. Clinical operation
7. Pharmacovigilance
8. Project management
9. Data Management
10. Biostatistics
11. Clinical trial reporting
12. Conducting bioequivalence study
13. Quality assurance
14. Marketing approval
15. Risk in clinical research
16. Influence of technology
 

During the program, recent up-to-date and advanced knowledge in various domains mentioned above would be imparted. Case studies would be provided wherever required.

2. Eligibility
 

Candidates who have graduated in 2010 / 2011 or professionals working in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai area in the field of Clinical Research (or in related domains) holding any of the following degrees:
B.Pharm / M.Pharm
 

M. Sc. (Applied Biology / Biochemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Life Sciences / Microbiology)
 

MBBS / BDS / BHMS / BAMS
 

MD
 

Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Pharmacodynamics/Epidemiology/Biostatistics

3. Application Fee
 

The application form must be downloaded from the web site (http://www.rils.ac.in) and filled up legibly. A nonrefundable application fee of INR 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) has to be paid through demand draft in favor of ‘Reliance Institute of Life Sciences’ payable at Mumbai along with the application. Completed application form along with the application fee needs to be sent via courier to the following address:

4. Selection Procedure
 

Short listed candidates will be interviewed telephonically or in person at Navi Mumbai.

5. Intake Capacity
 

The intake capacity of this program is limited to 20 persons. The admission will be done strictly on the basis of merit.

6. Course Fee
 

The course tuition fee is INR 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) which has to be paid at the time of admission through demand draft in favor of ‘Reliance Institute of Life Sciences’ payable at Mumbai.

7. Faculty
 

Faculty is drawn primarily from Reliance Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. Some of the faculty will come from other companies of Reliance Group and reputed academic institutions.

8. Academic Infrastructure
The training will be conducted in lecture halls equipped with computer, LCD projector and audio system.

9. Venue for the Program
The entire program will be conducted at Dhirubhai Ambani Life Sciences Center in Navi Mumbai.

10. Placement
 

Some of the participants who complete the program successfully (with first class) may have an opportunity to work for Reliance Clinical Research Services and other CROs.

11. Cafeteria
 

There is one cafeteria in the campus, which provides breakfast, lunch and evening snacks at affordable rates.

13. Healthcare
 

Medical doctors are available in the campus to take care of an emergency. Ailments can be treated in public and private hospitals at Navi Mumbai, which are accessible 24 hrs.

14. Location
 

Dhirubhai Ambani Life Sciences Center is located on Thane-Belapur Road opposite to Rabale railway station at Navi Mumbai. This Center is well connected with city center via public transport systems. energizing education
