Research Associates - 2 Posts (one each for terrestrial and aquatic including marine ecosystems)  

Short listed candidates will be called for interview, likely to be held during the third week of May 2011 at Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun (WII) or at New Delhi. 

Duration: Six Months.

Essential Qualifications Candidate must possess a Ph.D. Degree in Zoology/Botany/Environmental Science/Forestry/Wildlife Science/Biological Sciences/Life Sciences/Marine Biology from a recognised University.

Desirable Qualification Candidates with published research work to their credit and having undertaken independent research work will be given preference.

Project Description The study aims to analyze management plans for selection of target Protected Areas (PAs) in the country.

Job  Description The RAs will assist the Wildlife Division of the Ministry of Environment and Forests in analysing management plans of PAs, setting the priorities, and preparing a roadmap for providing financial support to identified PAs and establishing a PA specific monitoring protocol.
