Admission to Ph.D. Programme 2011- 2012

Applications are invited from candidates for admission to the Ph.D. Program (2011-2012) of ICGEB in two streams: Plant Biology and Human Health. 

The applicant should have cleared any one of following: CSIR-UGC, ICMR, DBT, DST or any other equivalent JRF examination. 

The fellowship should be valid for at least four years. Candidates with professional degrees like M.B.B.S./M.Tech. are also eligible, provided they have valid fellowships. Applications in the prescribed format (word and pdf) as given on www.icgeb.res.in/phd2011appformats.htm . 

JRF certificate and a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- (non-refundable), in favour of “ICGEB, New Delhi”, payable at New Delhi should be sent to: The Chief of Administration, ICGEB, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110067 before 30 April, 2011. 

An application that does not explicitly state the choice of stream will be rejected. The Envelope should be clearly marked with “Application for Ph.D. Programme – 2011-2012” and “The Choice of stream”. 

Short-listed candidates will be called for a written exam followed by an interview which will be held on 23^rd May and 24^th May, 2011 respectively. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (SPM) fellows are exempted from the written exam but should nonetheless apply along with other candidates in the above mentioned manner.
