CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) invites applications from enthusiastic young and dynamic Indian Nationals having excellent academic record/proven Scientific achievements and the ability to undertake R&D in an innovative way for the following posts of Scientists in the areas as given below:
Position No. 1: Principal Scientist (Biotechnology) in Pay Band-4 Rs.37400-67000 + GP 8700 (01 Post Unreserved-UR)
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in the area of Plant Biotechnology / Plant Molecular Biology and three years postdoctoral research experience in related area.
Desirable Qualification: Six years of postdoctoral research experience in Plant Molecular Biology and Biochemistry with publications and proven experience.
Job Requirement: To work in the area of Biotechnology. The placement may be at CIMAP Research Centre, Bangalore.
Age limit: Upto 45 years.
Position No. 2: Scientist / Senior Scientist(Bioinformatics/Biochemistry) in Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100* (01 post Unreserved-UR)
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. submitted in the area of Bioinformatics for Scientist OR Ph.D in the area of Bioinformatics with two years of research experience for Senior Scientist.
Desirable Qualification: Two years of postdoctoral research experience in Bioinformatics/Biochemistry with publications and proven experience in Computational Biology and wet-lab experience.
Job Requirement: To work in the area of Bioinformatics and Biochemistry including sequence analysis, genome-wide analysis, protein docking studies and molecular dynamics, in-silico analysis including proteins and small molecule interactions and protein-ligand dynamic studies, predicted gene validation. The placement may be at CIMAP Research Centre, Bangalore.
Age limit: Upto 32 years for Scientist/ 37 years for Senior Scientist.
Position No. 3: Scientist / Senior Scientist (Project Planning & Management) in Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100* (01 post Unreserved-UR)
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. submitted in Botany/Chemistry for Scientist OR M.Sc. with MBA / Post Graduate degree in Intellectual Property Law with three years experience / Ph.D. in Botany/Chemistry with two years experience for Senior Scientist
Desirable Qualification: Minimum one year experience in Project Management, Planning and Monitoring.
Job Requirement: To work in the area of project planning, performance and monitoring and extend help in human resource development activities.
Age limit : Upto 32 years for Scientist / 37 years for Senior Scientist.
Position No. 4: Scientist / Senior Scientist (Plant Biochemistry/Microbiology) in Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100* (01 post Reserved for SC candidate)
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. submitted in the area of Biochemistry/Microbiology for Scientist OR Ph.D. in the area of Biochemistry/Microbiology with two years research experience in Plant Biochemistry/Microbiology for Senior Scientist.
Desirable Qualification: Postdoctoral research experience in the related area supported with publications.
Job Requirement: Basic and applied studies in the area of Biochemistry/Microbiology/Molecular Biology/ Plant protection in medicinal and aromatic plants.
Age limit : Upto 32 years for Scientist / 37 years for Senior Scientist. (Upper age limit
relaxable upto 5 years for SC candidates)
Position No. 5: Scientist / Senior Scientist (Microbiology) in Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100* (01 post Unreserved-UR)
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. submitted in Microbiology/Life Sciences for Scientist OR Ph.D. in Microbiology/Life Sciences with two years postdoctoral research experience in related area for Senior Scientist.
Desirable Qualification: Two years experience of working in microbial research with research publications.
Job Requirement : To work in the area of Microbiology. Likely place of work, CIMAP
Research Centre, Bangalore.Age limit : Upto 32 years for Scientist / 37 years for Senior Scientist.
The prescribed application form for the above posts issued by CIMAP is available on CIMAP website which can be downloaded from www.cimap.res.in OR it can be obtained from the Administrative Officer, Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Post Office CIMAP, Lucknow- 226015, India by sending a self addressed & stamped envelope of 23x10 cms. Size, indicating number of Advertisement, Position No. and Name of the post applied for, affixing a postal stamp worth Rs. 10/- by 24th August, 2011.
Applications on prescribed form duly completed in all respects alongwith a recent passport size photograph, attested copies of certificates of educational qualification, experience certificate, reprints of published papers, community certificate (in the case of SC/ST/OBC etc.) and application fee of Rs. 100/- only (no fee is payable by the candidates belonging to SC/ST community, Physically Handicapped persons and regular employees of CSIR) through an A/c payee Bank Draft of State Bank of India (SBI) with a six months validity, drawn at State Bank of India, Main Branch, Lucknow in favour of Director, Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow OR Director, CIMAP, Lucknow payable at Lucknow should be sent on or before 31st August, 2011. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
