BASIC THEORY:

· Stem cell- overview.

· Embryonic and Adult stem cells.

· Types of Adult stem cells.

· Culturing techniques

· FACS theory.

PRACTICALS:

Isolation techniques:

· Isolation of Stem cells from Peripheral blood / Bone marrow / Cord Blood.

· Dilutions and Cell Counting

· Cell Viability Testing.

· Isolation of stromal vascular fraction from Adipose tissue.

· Isolation of Wharton’s jelly derived stem cells

Flow cytometry:

· Basics of the FACS (Fluorescent Activated Cell Sorter) instrument.

· Quality control checking in FACS.

· compensation.

• Gating strategies (Histogram/plots)
• Differential Count Analysis by FACS.
• Enumeration of HSC/MSC population using FACS.

ELIGIBILITY: BSc, BTECH, MSc OR any equivalent life science degree
