RECRUITMENT FOR SCIENTIFIC POSITION

The Pediatric Biology Centre (PBC) is a program of the THSTI, with the mandate to study

(a) human perinatal biology;

(b) maternal, fetal, neonatal and childhood infections;

(c) nutritional biology and

(d) other childhood illness.

The work envisaged is multi-disciplinary in nature. Search for scientific, clinical, administrative and technical staff is in progress. This advertisement is to search for people who are enthusiastic, motivated and willing to engage in institution building.

1 Scientist E (Clinical/non-clinical/statistical investigator)

Rs. 37,400-67,000 + GP Rs. 8,700

For non-clinical candidates:

ESSENTIAL: Ph.D with at least six years of post-doctoral experience in chemistry or chemical engineering, immunology, genetics, biology or biomedical engineering, material sciences, engineering or physical sciences or cellular and molecular biology.

DESIRABLE: Previous experience of working at the interface of health sciences and technology especially focused on areas ranging from fundamental biosciences to clinically motivated research interpreted in the broadest sense.

To initiate projects and see them through with the help of the team members and lead an integrative, multi-disciplinary research, develop necessary techniques and technologies to complement work.

For statistical candidates:

ESSENTIAL: Ph.D or corresponding degree in mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or similar quantitative disciplines. Six years of R&D experience.

Provide scientific statistical input to project planning, prepare statistical section for clinical study protocols, supervise the collection, processing and analysis of data collected, develop new and improve methods and ideas of data collection, processing analysis and dissemination of data.

2. Scientist D (Clinical/ non-clinical investigators)

Rs. 15,600-39,100 + GP Rs. 7,600

For non-clinical candidates:

ESSENTIAL: Ph.D with at least three years of post-doctoral experience in chemistry or chemical engineering, immunology, genetic, biology or biomedical engineering, material sciences, engineering or physical sciences or cellular and molecular biology.

3 Scientist C (Clinical/ non-clinical)

For non-clinical candidates:

1. ESSENTIAL: Ph.D with minimum of one year post-doctoral experience in chemistry or chemical engineering, immunology, genetics, biology or biomedical engineering, material sciences, engineering or physical sciences or cellular and molecular biology.

Ability to handle work independently, work as a part of a large team of investigators, set up new assays/techniques and execute reproducibly

For non-clinical candidates:

2. ESSENTIAL: PhD with minimum one year post-doctoral experience in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, biology or biomedical engineering. Hands-on experience in using state-of-art flow-cytometers for multi-colour analysis.

Ability to work as a part of a large team of investigators, to conduct experiments on and to maintain flow cytometers including sorters, and to provide core expertise and help for flow cytometry.

For statistical candidates:

ESSENTIAL: Ph.D or corresponding degree in mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or similar quantitative disciplines. . One year of R&D experience.

Provide scientific statistical input to project planning, prepare statistical section for clinical study protocols, supervise the collection, processing and analysis of data collected, develop new and improve methods and ideas of data collection, processing analysis and dissemination of data.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:

1. Appointment will be made on contract initially for a period upto 5 years (subject to the continuance of the program) with a probation period of one year that may be reviewed for confirmation subject to satisfactory performance.
2. The pay & allowances etc are admissible as per the recommendation of VIth Pay Commission of the Govt. of India. Other benefits include new pension scheme, medical reimbursement, LTC, bonus etc. as per rules of the institute to be framed.
3. Positions will be initially based in the THSTI‟s interim laboratories at Gurgaon and will be shifted to its permanent campus in Faridabad when ready.
4. 5. All educational professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/University.
6. The experience requirement specified shall be experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications required for the post. Experience backed up by sound original peer-reviewed research publications will be important for shortlisting.
7. The age limit, qualification, experience and other requirements for the post is relaxable at the discretion of the competent authority, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. Persons working in Govt. or Public Sector undertaking should apply through proper channel or produce „No Objection Certificate‟ at the time of Interview.
