RECRUITMENT OF PROJECT FELLOWS IN UGC SPONSORED UPE (JNCSST) PROJECT
University Grants Commission (UGC), Govt of India has identified University of Mumbai as University with Potential for Excellence (UPE). Under this Programme the University has established Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Society, Science and Technology (JNCSST).
One of the research components of this Centre entitled - Establishment of medicinal plants based micro-enterprises through their conservation and sustainable utilisation is being implemented by university department of life sciences, University of Mumbai under the leadership of Professor Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh. This field based Project is being implemented in Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra.
The applications are invited from eligible candidates for recruiting THREE Project Fellows to work under the said Research Project for a period of 3 years under the DST/PURSE Programme. The Candidates appointed will work with the salary of RS. 10,000/per month as per the DST Rules.
The three Positions are categorised as
(a) Economist/Agriculturist;
(b) Social Scientist/Food Technologist; and
(c) Life Scientist/ Botanist/ Environmentalist.
Applicants should have Master's Degree from a UGC recognized University in Botany, Life Sciences/Environmental Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Food Technology/ Economics/ Sociology/Agriculture with minimum of 55% marks (5% relaxation for reserved category candidates recognized by UGC) are entitled to apply.
1. Project Fellow:
Should have work experience in the area of Biotechnology, Molecular Genetics with considerable knowledge of taxonomy of plants.
The applications should reach Professor & Head, University Dept. of Life Sciences, University of Mumbai on or before August 27, 2011. The date and time of interviews (walk-in) that will be held in the Office of Professor & Head, University Department of Life Sciences, University of Mumbai, Vidyanagari, Santacruz (E), Mumbai 400098 will be communicated to the Candidates on August 30, 2011.
The Candidates will have to bear their own TAIDA expenditure.
