About the workshop

Immunoinformatics is an emerging area of bioinformatics. It focuses on the structure, function and interactions of the molecules involved in immunity. Two major cell types, T-cells and B-cells, play significant roles in allergy, inflammation, infection and protective immunity. Recently developed in silico tools and databases that can be used to identify, characterize or predict antigen epitopes recognized by T- and B-cells.

Objective of the Workshop

Introduction to Immunoinformatics Basics
Use of Bioinformatics in Immunology
Immunology Database
Retrieval of Immunological Data from Database
Gene and Allele identification of Antibodies
Immunoglobulin gene identification by BLAST
Epitope analysis and prediction
Prediction of Immunoglobulin and MHC 3D structure
T cell receptor gene identification
Phylogenetic analysis.
