Job Description
Qualification: Ph.D. in drug metabolism and/or related disciplines, such as analytical sciences, pharmacology, biochemistry, or medicinal chemistry
Experience: 0-5 years of professional (industry) experience and hands-on lab experience essential.

Roles & Responsibilities
The major responsibility of the selected candidate will be to carry out the day to day activities of the department’s in-vitro experiments. The selected candidate would be expected to have hands on experience in microsomal and hepatocyte incubations, inhibition assays, reaction phenotyping assays and absorption/transporter assays. The selected candidate would be expected to plan, organize, execute, troubleshoot and report the results of all in vitro assays to the stakeholders. The selected candidate may supervise, train and delegate to one or two M.S. level scientists in the execution of these assays. The selected candidate would also have to display a basic understanding of the theoretical concepts underlying in-vitro drug metabolism, be able to validate and implement novel assays, and be able to present data to various groups by providing context and interpretation to the data.

Skill Sets
The desired candidate should have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting in a fast paced environment. Strong problem solving skills are required. In addition, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken) are mandatory in order to perform in a matrix-team environment.
The candidate should be well versed in the theoretical and practical aspects of drug metabolism, enzyme kinetics, inhibition assays, mammalian cell culture and transporter assays
