The Global Cancer Genomics Consortium
Global Cancer Genomics Consortium–Tata Memorial Centre (GCGC-TMC) Symposium
Announcing the first Global Cancer Genomic Consortium (GCGC) symposium organized by three leading academic institutions; George Washington University, USA, Oxford University, UK and Tata Memorial Centre India. The GCGC is the recipient of a recent award from the Prime Minister's Initiative for International Education from the United Kingdom (PMI2), which intends to stimulate the growth of a new variety of partnerships among higher education institutions from UK, US, and India.
The aim of GCGC is to interrogate the most relevant questions pertaining to the biology and therapeutics of breast and other cancers (http://www.gwumc.edu/mgpc/global.cfm). As part of its core activity, the Consortium is organizing the first GCGC-TMC Symposium & Workshop from 10-12 Nov 2011 at ACTREC, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The focus and theme of the Symposium is “Cancer Genomics and Proteomics – Current Technologies and Applications”. The faculty for the Symposium/Workshop will be internationally renowned leaders in genomic/proteomic research who will deliver talks on these themes.
An important component of the meeting is a workshop that will involve analytical interpretation of actual data using next generation sequencing on cases of breast cancer especially for students and young researchers. A tentative program can be found here: http://www.actrec.gov.in/GCGC.pdf
Registration is mandatory to attendance. Please write to Conference Secretariat (gcgc.actrec@gmail.com) with your contact details and few key words describing your field of specialization.
