Hamdard Centenary Research Fellowship

Applications are invited from researchers around the world for ‘Hamdard Centenary Fellowship’ created by Jamia Hamdard to commemorate the birth centenary of its beloved Founder Hakeem Abdul Hameed (September 14, 1908 – July 22, 1999). The Founder was an avid physician of Unani-tib who promoted integrated research encompassing the traditional and modern approaches of therapy. In spite of being a doyen of Unani-tib and its practitioners for decades, he espoused proliferation of modern sciences on campus and therefore when the erstwhile institutions were granted a ‘Deemed to be University’ status some of the newly created Departments included modern subjects such as biochemistry, biotechnology, botany, chemistry, and toxicology. He persuaded eminent researchers in the field of science, pharmacy and social sciences to join Jamia Hamdard and take up advanced research in their respective areas. This has resulted in stupendous growth of Jamia Hamdard in modern research. Today, Jamia Hamdard is one among the top Universities of India with respect to its research output.
