Notice for Admission to Ph.D. Programme for 2011-12-II Semester
Applications are invited from Indian citizens for admission in the Ph.D. programmes for the session commencing from December 2011 through walk-in interview.
The other details are as following:
Last date of sending complete application forms: November 25, 2011
List for shortlisted candidates available on Departmental web page: Nov. 27, 2011.
Date of Interview: Tentative date will be first week of December, 2011 & exact date will be intimated, after short listing, on Departmental web page.
The minimum eligibility for the PhD program is as below:
Candidates should meet one of the following 4 conditions. Candidates appearing in the final examinations of the qualifying degree are also eligible to apply.
• Should have a master's degree in engineering (ME/M.Tech), or medicine (MD) or
M.Sc. (Agri) or equivalent with minimum of 55 percent marks /5.5 CPI (on a 10 point scale) as long as it is not less than the minimum pass marks/CPI.
OR
• Should have a bachelor's degree in engineering (B.E/B.Tech) or pharmacy (B.Pharm) with a minimum of 75 percent marks/7.5 CPI, and a valid GATE score or qualified in the JRF of UGC, CSIR, DBT, ICAR or ICMR.
OR
• Master's degree in sciences or an allied area (M.Sc), satisfying each of the following criteria may also be considered:
A minimum of 65 percent marks/6.5 CPI in the master's degree,
First division in bachelor's degree, and
UGC, CSIR, DBT, ICAR or ICMR junior research fellowship (JRF) OR 95
percentile or higher in GATE.
OR
• MBBS degree holders with a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying degree.
