Applications are invited for the following position in the DBT - supported Network Project on Functional Genomics of Rice entitled, “Gene targeting to achieve gene `knock-out’ in rice and generation of selectable marker-free transgenic rice” in the Department of Plant Biotechnology, School of Biotechnology, Madurai Kamaraj University. The project period is up to August 2014.

Research Associate (one)

Qualification: Should have completed Ph.D. in Biotechnology or in any branch of Life Sciences with experience in Molecular Biology and Recombinant DNA Methods.

Experience in Plant tissue culture and Transformation is desirable.

Must have publications in peer reviewed journals. Those who have submitted Ph.D. thesis may also apply.

Salary: Rs. 22,000 + MA + HRA
